So who am I anyways?

Hello! I’m Chris Gilmore, and I’m the photographer and founder of Mood Photography llc. While my business may be somewhat new, my passion for photography is not. It all started back in the 80’s when I would spend my babysitting money buying film for my camera and buying magazines to obsess over amazing photographs. I loved editorial ads, they really spoke to me, the way they had a story to tell. After a few photography courses I fell in love with the darkroom. I loved physically creating a piece of art. I developed my own film and everything, even had a dark room set up in my apartment at one point. I would have happily stayed on the path leading to a career in fashion photography (one can dream), but life isn’t always one path. Throughout my journey, (did I mention I have 3 kids?), I never stopped taking photos. In fact, having kids kept me constantly taking photos, even though it wasn't my “job”. That is what made me fall in love with portraits. And not boring portraits. When I take a photo that really captures the essence of the moment or the person I am truly satisfied. I feel my creativity has evolved to the point that I am comfortable considering myself an artist and a photographer. Am I perfect? Nope. Will you feel something when you look at my pictures? Absolutely! Well, I hope so anyways. Take a look at my portfolio and if you don’t feel a sense of a mood or emotion or connection then I’m probably not the photographer you’re looking for. But if you like what you see, we should collaborate.
